advice

We have done our homework in the development of our recommendations for college placement videos. We sent inquiries out to Div I, II and III coaches and asked them what they wanted to see in a recruit's video; we have that summary sheet from some of the top college coaches - see the articles page.

Most coaches preferred the video to be posted at: www.YouTube.com with the URL linked to your email inquiry to the coach. This allows them easy access to the video and usually means it will be short (less than 5 minutes). While we understand that doing your own video is not 'rocket science,' we also know that learning the difficult video editing programs is not everyone's cup of tea. If you wish to take your own raw footage and have us edit it and upload it to YouTube for you, we are happy to do this. The fee is reasonable at $225. Annette will also supervise the final product to be sure it is going to gain the interest of a coach and will be happy to give her feedback on the appropriate level of play (Div I, II or III) the athlete is suitable for. Contact us for details on what we need if you would like this service. Full video services (including filming) is usually about another $100 depending upon location and time involved.

For those who would like to check out other videos we've done, here are some great examples: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7mE3sHut64 (taken at an academy), http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P61fqeVB07Q&feature=related , and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hX7G_tW12A (both taken during the Quiksilver and Roxy tournaments). If you prefer to have the video done at a tournament by our videographer, it must be filmed in Southern California.
